Transition Putney, Meeting Minutes, Feb. 3, 2010

Present: Yada, Brett, Daniel, Charlie, Margaret, and Paul

1. We started the meeting with an introduction to the Transition Putney website, under development. Thanks Daniel!
2. Brett led us in a heart and soul attunement, reminding us that Transition Putney is about connection, relationship, developing our ‘being’ side as well as doing one. 3. We talked about inviting anyone interested in Transition Putney to share his or her gifts through events, reskilling workshops, discussion groups, etc. We also invite people to help us put on educational events like film series, the Local Food, Local Farms series, etc. As time goes on, we will welcome people to form working groups. There are 7 criteria for Transition Town working groups.
4. Daniel is part of a group interested in exploring local currency. He’ll work with them on this.
5. Several people have contacted us about ideas for Transition Putney with ideas for Transition Putney.
6. There is a Transition Town training in NHamption Ma end of Feb.
7. We want to do a Transition Town training here in Putney later in the year. Tina Clarke expressed interest in doing this.
8. We are exploring collaboration with Sandglass theater, POS and a neighborhood greenhouse project,
9. The Book Discussion Leader Training went very well on Feb. 1. Alison Mott and Ruth Sessions trained six people to lead discussions of The Transition Handbook in their neighborhoods. They will do these trainings once a month.
10. We have decided to apply for official status as a Transition Town.
11. The Feb. 17-20 Local Food, Local Farming series is coming together nicely.
12. We’ll meet again next Wed, Feb 10, 7:30-9pm
