Community Contra Dance At Pierce's Hall this Saturday
The East Putney Community Contra Dance is celebrated for its fine music and warm community atmosphere, where dancers of all ages and skill levels are welcome. No experience or partner is necessary, and all dances are taught. The dance is always held on the last Saturday of the month, in this case on June 30th. This month we'll have a new face on stage at the East Putney dance. Although Adina Gordon has called dances in 36 states and 6 time zones, though this is her first time at Pierce's Hall. To learn more about the charismatic caller who "looks like she's having too much fun," (and to see what at least one musician you know is saying about her,) visit http://www.adinagordon.com/bio.html.
Joining Adina will be two established and well-loved members of the Pierce's Hall family: Laurie Indenbaum on fiddle and Andy Davis on piano (and possibly accordion). As always, the night starts at 7:30 with a beginners' session until 8:00, followed by dancing until about 10:30.
To reach Pierce’s Hall from Putney Village, go north 2 miles on Rt. 5. Turn right on E. Putney Falls Rd, and the hall is .5 miles on the left. A suggested $7 donation is collected at the door. For more information, call (802)387-5357.
