Her journey to manifest her own dream appears to have occurred very quickly. Like a butterfly from the cocoon, Thurman seems to have skipped the awkward phase of adolescence. Through talent, grit, discipline and serious study she has proven herself to be a mature player, confidently living the music. Camille has three albums out under her name and shared the stage with such luminaries as Benny Golson, George Coleman, Dianne Reeves, Russell Malone, George Benson, Dr. Lonnie Smith, Alicia Keys, and India Arie She is a two-time recipient of the ASCAP Herb Alpert Young Jazz Composers Award and a Fulbright Scholar. Her compositions were featured in the ASCAP/ Kennedy Center "Songwriters: The Next Generation" showcase; she has also appeared on BET's Black Girls Rock.
