VJC Solo Piano Jazz Festival
Vermont Jazz Center Solo Jazz Piano Fest The VJC presents a one and  one half day festival of eight concerts and five master classes featuring solo jazz piano. We celebrate the Steinway D, nine-foot concert grand piano gifted to the VJC by the McKenzie Family Charitable Trust, and rebuilt by piano technician Bill Ballard. Pianists presenting concerts and master classes in this festival include world renowned players Stanley Cowell, Luis Perdomo, Amina Figarova, Miro Sprague and Yoko Miwa, as well as local performers Franz Robert, Alki Steriopoulos and VJC director Eugene Uman. Master classes are open to and designed for musicians and interested listeners alike. Now that VJC is home to a top-level instrument, it is the only venue in New England supporting a festival devoted exclusively to the art of solo jazz piano performance. This event is sponsored by a generous grant from the Thompson Trust. $80 for the "full-package" admission (all events) $20 Friday concert alone $20 Saturday concert alone $50 for Saturday's four master classes combined. Contact VJC for about educational discounts. Tickets online, by email, at door, at In the Moment Records, reserved by phone.
