This is a chance to hear from many organizations that have run successful food shelves, and to consider how we would like the Putney Food Shelf to evolve. Putney Farmers' Market Calls for Musicians/Entertainers

The Putney Harvest Farmers' Market is looking for musicians and entertainers for each of the six Sunday markets running this season, from September 5 through October 10th. All music must be acoustic, and support a lively, generous market atmosphere. Entertainment such as puppet shows, shorter theatrical performances, magic shows, etc. are most welcome to apply!

We tore up our attic floor to add insulation, and we have a stack of boards in our garage that would be PERFECT fuel for a sugar house. The wood is untreated and dry with some nails still attached, and could also be used for creative carpenters (picture frames?). Varied size up to 1 ft x 12 ft. Pick-up required. PUTNEY -- An endowment that was set up by the Putney Central School board is growing.
After the board made its first award to the school’s garden program this year, the endowment is growing tomatoes, basil and green beans.

NMH Announces Sale of Northfield campus to C. S. Lewis College

Putney has many alums from Northfield Mount Hermon School. Here's some news about the birthing of C.S. Lewis College on the Northfield campus.

Northfield Campus
On December 16, Northfield Mount Hermon announced that Hobby Lobby had purchased the Northfield campus, where C.S. Lewis Foundation will establish C.S. Lewis College. The move ensures the preservation of historic campus landmarks and that the beloved campus will continue as a center of education and learning.

FALL BULBS--Fundraiser at Putney Central School

FALL BULB FUNDRAISER

Thinking about fall bulbs? Consider choosing from a colorful selection offered as a fundraiser for FOX, the science-in the-classroom-program offered by trained volunteers to Putney Central students in grades 1-5. Order forms and photos of the various selections will be available in mid-September through students, faculty & staff and volunteers, as well as at the school and at select public locations.You can also call Louise (387-5548) or Kai (387-2877).

The school budget funds one-half of the FOX program costs, and fundraisers--including the bake sale and soup lunch at Town Meeting--fund the other half.

Putney Harvest Farmers' Market

It’s official: PUTNEY HAS A FARMERS' MARKET!
And it starts this September!

On Sunday morning September 5th, Transition Putney launches its latest project: The Putney Harvest Farmers’ Market, to run six weeks through October 10th. The markets will be at the Putney Community Garden (Carol Brown Way) on Sundays from 11am to 2pm.

The market’s mission is to support local agriculture by providing a viable direct market outlet while building community and providing regional sustainability.
