Transition Putney Vermont puts Local Farms on the map!

The Transition Putney team has completed their Local Farm Directory and Produce Map.

http://transition.putney.net/farms.html

Our directory has over 45 farms from Southern Vermont and New Hampshire. This is a live interactive map allowing people to visually see all the farms in our area, get directions and farm details.

Using Google Map technology; it is a visually stunning showcase of the many farms in our area, and also a way to see each farm’s layout from the sky.. We are adding features all the time like a search system to help people find exactly what they want to purchase, or a listing of CSA or farmers markets in your area.. This will help local farmers sell produce and help people find farms near them. Southern Vermont is so rich in fruits and vegetables, many farms are pick your own, or offer CSA and are organic, we designed this website to encourage local food production and consumption. We are happy to list any farm in our area.

Still seeking home for wonderful young cat...

A black cat with golden eyes who appeared in our yard one day needs a loving home. He is young - probably around a year - and is great with kids and dogs. We fell in love with him and took him in, but allergies and a busy road prevent us from keeping him. He would be much happier in a home than a barn, and would appear to be a good mouser, based on the carcasses we've found around the house... He seems fairly adaptable and would be a wonderful animal companion. I've posted a rather grainy photo of him here:
