Putney Central Explores Pre-school Ned
Parents attending the First Day Hooray program at the Central School will find a survey in their packet, asking about their need for child care services. The school is exploring the possibility of a program for three and four year olds that would begin in 2011.Others in the community with need for an early childhood program are invited to email School Counselor Kathleen Bartlett at kathleen_bartlett@wsesu.org. Putney Family Services is offering three new after-school enrichment programs for elementary aged students.
The Putney Central School Endowment Fund is now offering funding for programs that will enrich the academic curriculum or establish a new after-school activity. Proposals for programs for the 2010-2011 school year may not exceed $500, and can be submitted by any member of the Putney community by April 1, 2010. Richard Brady and Kirstin Edelglass will present "Tuning In: Mindfulness in Teaching and Learning" at The Putney School's Calder Hall in the Michael S. Currier Center on Sunday, January 31 from 7-8 p.m. A discussion on the topic will follow at 8 p.m. The presentation and discussion session are free and open to the public.
The Grammar School welcomed two visiting artists in residence in November. Sculptor Andrea Stix Wasserman and muralist Terry Sylvester were funded by a grant from the Clowes Foundation.
