NEWBROOK ELEMENTARY SCHOOL PTO TO HOLD ITS ANNUAL 5K RACE FUN RUN WALK

NEWFANE – Come join runners and walkers alike Saturday, September 27th, as they take to scenic River Road in Newfane, VT for the 6th Annual 5K Fit & Fun Race, sponsored by the NewBrook Elementary PTO.

This accurately-timed, family-friendly 5K event, which encourages every level and caliber of runners and walkers, is the PTO’s major fundraiser for important school enrichment programs at NewBrook Elementary School. Field trips, guest speakers, and the purchase of materials to enhance student’s classroom experience are all funded by money raised from the race.

The race begins at 10am at the NewBrook Elementary School on Route 30 North in Newfane, and includes a baseball cap for all participants, as well as medals for all children, complimentary post-race massages, healthy refreshments, and free ice cream at the finish. Prizes will be awarded to the top male and female finisher in each adult category (17-39, 40-55, and over 56), as well as the top boy and girl finisher in each child category (under 7, 8-12, and 13-16). All registered runners will also be included in a raffle for additional prizes.

Children ages 5 and under can show their stuff in a ½ mile Kids Fun Run starting at 9:45am. Each participant in this Fun Run will receive a medal and small prize.

Pre-registration, which receives a $5.00 discount, can be completed visiting the NewBrook Elementary School’s website: www.newbrookschool.org and clicking on the Race Registration link. The fee for children 16 and under is $5.00; individuals 17 and older is $15.00, and a family registration is $20.00. Racers can also register the day of the race between 8:00am and 9:00am ($5.00/$20.00/$25.00 respectively). Pre-registration or early registration day-of is highly encouraged.
