If there are leaves in or around the road wheather it be dirt or pavement
the leaves my be slippery or could cover up something that you could drive over like a rock or something...I feel that blowing leaves off the side of dirt roads is a good use of the town of putney's budget. --- Backer Heller PO box 262 Putney,VT 05346 Town crews have been seen vacuuming leaves from the side of dirt roads in Putney. I agree with Backer. Plus, the road crew has so much to do that I
doubt they would ever spend time doing things that waste our money. Rather than create a poll like this which asks people to vote on an emotional reaction, I challenge the pollster to do some research. Finding out more about the leaves on dirt roads and why they need to be blown away would help us all make an imformed decision. good to hear from you backer, and fern.
i agree that the town road crews use good judgment in terms of their choices of projects. Backer makes some excellent points for keeping leaves off the roads. and fern's point about researching directly at the source makes sense to me -- it's good citizen pariticipation. a call to the town hall or attendance at a selectboard meeting could easily clear up any questions in the pollster's mind. paul |
