Social Media & Your Teen at Putney Library

Social Media & Your Teen

Are you a parent of a middle school or high school age teenage? Is your teen on social media? Join other parents for an evening of discussion surrounding the tough navigation of social media use, pressures, bullying and the dangers your teen may encounter just thru the use of their phone.

New social media apps are popping up all the time. With each new app comes new risks and pathways for online bullying, name-calling, social pressures, sexual harassment and drama! Come join us for an evening of discussion at the Putney Library on Thursday, May 26th at 7pm, facilitated by Anna Mullany, the Youth Advocate from the Women’s Freedom Center– the local organization working to end domestic and sexual violence. We will discuss the impact of social media in your teen’s life, struggles you have as parent around interacting with your teen about social media, and tips in navigating these conversations.

Anna Mullany works within the Windham County schools with teachers, staff, and 7th thru 12th graders around issues of consent, rape culture, social media, objectification, body image, gender identity, and healthy relationships. Feel free to call the library with any questions: 802-387-4407.

Putney Library is located at 55 Main St. Putney, VT. The event is free and open to the public.
