The Putney Foodshelf thanks the Putney community for the generous response to our Top the Truck food drive on Sept. 28. We collected 2,261 pounds of food and $2,182.12 in cash.
None of this would have been possible without the help of the following people and organizations: the event’s sponsors (Basketville, Putney General Store, and Soundview Paper Company); Hilary Famolare for the use of her driveway; students and staff at The Grammar School, The Greenwood School, Landmark College, Putney Central School, and the Putney School; radio station WKVT, including Peter Case, Chris Lenois, and Linda Steele; Nancy Gauthier at The Commons; Elena Newsmith at the Brattleboro Reformer; the volunteers, both those who staffed the event, and those who moved, sorted, and packed all the food the next day; and all the kind folks who donated food and money during the drive.
