Thankful at Thanksgiving time

The Putney Foodshelf thanks The Grammar School for the beautiful baskets (donated by Basketville, so you know how pretty they are!) filled with goodness and wonderful notes, which arrived this week at the Foodshelf for our neighbors who struggle to put food on the table.

We filled an additional 60 bags with Thanksgiving dinner fixings, so that everyone can have a lovely meal on Thanksgiving day. We handed them out during open hours this past Tuesday.

Our community works together to help those who are making tough decisions: Food this week or rent? Food this week or medicine? Food this week or heat? Food this week or gas for the car to get to work? Accessing the Foodshelf can help keep food on the table.

If you know anyone struggling, get them to the Foodshelf. Anyone in need of food is welcome. We’re open Tuesdays 6–7 p.m. and Saturdays 9–10 a.m. Located in the Putney Community Center (far ramp door) at 10 Christian Square. For more information: www.putneyfoodshelf.org
