Twilight on the Tavern Lawn presents The Snaz Sunday, August 24

The SnazTwilight Music concludes its 12th annual Twilight On The Tavern Lawn series of folk, world beat, rock, jazz, zydeco, Celtic, swing, blues and bluegrass summer concerts on Sunday, August 24 with The Snaz, an original, indie rock band featuring four Vermont teenagers. The seventh and final concert of the 2014 series begins at 6:00 pm in downtown Putney on the Putney Tavern lawn (bring a lawn chair or blanket) or at Next Stage at 15 Kimball Hill in case of rain. The series is sponsored by the Town of Putney, Soundview Paper Company, Next Stage Arts Project, The Stockwell Brothers and many other Putney businesses and organizations. The concerts are free to the public (donations are accepted) and food will be available. For more information, call 802-387-5772 or visit www.twilightmusic.org.

The Snaz is a young, original rock band featuring Dharma Ramirez (16, lead vocals and guitar), Mavis Eaton (16, keyboards and backup vocals), Zack James (14, drums) and Nina Singleton-Spencer (15, bass). They have won “Battle of the Bands” competitions in Brattleboro and Northampton. Their prize for the Brattleboro event was recording time at the Guilford Sound studios, where they recorded an EP with the help of Grammy nominated record producer Peter Solley. That record produced the hit tune “Anna,” which was the #2 song on Northampton’s WRSI 93.9 “Top 93 songs of 2013” and is still played regularly on 93.9 The River. The band was featured on VPR’s Vermont Edition radio program and the VPR 2013 Annual Music Show, and gained national attention as finalists in the NPR Studio 360 Battle of the High School Bands.
