Alice Holway Drive, the construction of 2 buildings with 25 apartments adjacent to the community gardens, is cleared to move forward with the resolution released from the Vermont Supreme Court November 15th. The ruling by the state’s highest court affirms the Environmental Court’s decision earlier this year rejecting a third appeal that claimed the project was subject to an ACT 250 review. It marks the final step in a lengthy legal process that began in March of 2022 when a first appeal was filed after the Putney Development Review Board approved the site plan.
We’re very grateful for the community members who continually showed up in support of this proposal and look forward to breaking ground in the spring! We have an up to date info page dedicated to Alice Holway Drive. You can find status updates, FAQs, and renderings of the buildings. Leasing of these apartments will not begin until construction is near completion in 2026. https://www.homemattershere.org/alice-holway-drive-info-page/
Thank you for staying informed! We look forward to focusing on the exciting part: creating homes that 25 households can feel that sense of belonging and community connection.
