Author and Mental Health Advocate Amanda Stern Discusses Anxiety at Landmark College, March 3

The Spring 2020 Landmark College Academic Speaker Series presents a talk by author Amanda Stern on Tuesday, March 3 at 7 p.m. in the Brooks M. O’Brien Auditorium, located in the East Academic Building.

Stern’s presentation is based on her 2018 memoir Little Panic: Dispatches from an Anxious Life (Grand Central Publishing). Despite growing up with an undiagnosed panic disorder and an unspecified learning disability, Stern has managed to live a full and joyful life on her own terms, including becoming a professional comedian and publishing thirteen books. She’ll discuss the writing process and how she accomplished goals she was consistently told were out of her reach.

In addition to Little Panic, Stern is the author of The Long Haul and eleven books for children written under pseudonyms. In 2003, she founded the legendary Happy Ending Music and Reading Series, which was initially produced in New York City at Joe’s Pub and then later at Symphony Space. The multi-disciplinary series, which required creative artists to take risks onstage, became the gold standard for literary events.

This event is free and open to the public. For additional information or questions about venue accessibility, contact Eve Leons at eleons@landmark.edu.
