Bandwagon Summer Series: Las Guaracheras — Salsa & Latin Jazz in the Field

The Bandwagon Summer Series returns to Cooper Field on Sunday, July 5 with an electrifying evening of salsa and Latin jazz from Las Guaracheras, an all-female sextet from Cali, Colombia. Known for their vibrant, high-energy performances, the group brings a fresh and powerful voice to contemporary Latin music—blending Afro-Caribbean rhythms with the rich musical traditions of Colombia’s Pacific coast.

Showtime is 6:00 PM, with doors opening at 5:00 PM at Cooper Field, 41 Sand Hill Road, Putney. Tickets are $24 in advance, $28 at the gate, and kids under 12 are free. Advance tickets are available at nextstagearts.org. Food will be available onsite from Saffron Restaurant, along with additional refreshments from the Next Stage bar.

Since forming in 2017 in Cali—often called the global capital of salsa—Las Guaracheras have earned international acclaim for performances that combine precision musicianship with improvisation, storytelling, and a strong commitment to women’s visibility in the music industry. Their distinctive sound features percussion, piano, bass, vocals, and vibraphone, creating a layered, dynamic stage experience where every musician shines.

As part of the Bandwagon Summer Series, this concert is part of a broader family-friendly outdoor series running June through September, featuring music, puppetry, and circus arts across Putney, Brattleboro, and Bellows Falls. Kids under 12 attend free, and each event includes a play area plus space to picnic, relax, and enjoy live performance in a welcoming outdoor setting.

Join us for an evening where tradition meets innovation, and every rhythm carries joy, strength, and community.
