Brattleboro Women’s Chorus Concerts

The Brattleboro Women’s Chorus presents their annual spring concert, “Up on the Roof,” on Saturday, May 10 and Mother’s Day Sunday, May 11 at 4 pm at the Brattleboro Music Center. The concert features over 70 singers singing music composed by women who are almost all living composers. This year the BWC is directed by founder Becky Graber in collaboration with guest songleader and local musician Anna Patton.

The concert will feature songs by J.J. Heller, Melanie DeMore, Cris Williamson, Madeleine Peyroux’s recent “Let’s Walk,” Joan Szymko’s “Malala,” and the challenging and satisfying piece by Mia Makaroff of Finland called “Spes.”

The chorus will be accompanied by pianist Cathy Martin and guitarist Liza Constable, joined by Julian Gerstin on percussion on “Malala”.

Tickets are on a sliding scale of $15-$30 and can be purchased online until Friday 5/9 or at the door (as available). For more information and to purchase tickets, please visit BrattleboroWomensChorus.org/concerts.
