November Alice Holway Drive Updates 🚧We’re just about at the halfway mark! The site has been busy with multiple different crews working on the buildings and systems. We were also so pleased to host 50 elementary students from both Putney Central School (5th grade) and The Grammar School (3-5 grades) this week. Students got to walk through both buildings, ask questions, and learn more about construction. These students were extremely engaged with great questions, these are trade-savvy students!
Progress update: With installation of plumbing, electric, HVAC connections and ducting, sprinklers, and more, approaching completion, the building closest to Rte. 5 (48 AHD) is nearly ready for interior walls and ceilings (sheetrock) to go up. On the outside, crews are mobilizing to install the exterior siding, as well. Both buildings, 48 AHD and 50 AHD, will be completely dried in by the end of December. Earlier this month Bazin Brothers dug up a portion of Alice Holway Drive in order to connect the new buildings to the town water system. In collaboration with the town, we were able to come up with a plan to add a new valve and make the connection with as little disruption to other town water users as possible.
Leasing Updates: the apartments have not been leased and there is no waitlist. We will open applications in the spring when the buildings are near completion. If you are a Putney group, organization, school, business or other and would like applications on hand for when leasing begins, please reach out to Marion mmajor@homemattershere.org. Anyone can sign up to receive notifications for available apartments in Putney (Putney Landing, Noyes House, Laura Plantz) on our website: https://www.homemattershere.org/how-to-apply/
Finally, several community members have voiced interest in participating in a welcome wagon/welcome committee. If you’d like to be part of this, please also reach out to Marion mmajor@homemattershere.org and thank you!
Thank you @rearchconstruction for guiding the tours, providing safety equipment, and for the great work!
