Early Voting Has Started in Vermont

EARLY VOTING IN VERMONT HAS STARTED

In Vermont, early voting for the November 5 General Election began on September 21. You can vote early in person at your town or city clerk’s office or by mail. (To date, Vermont has one of the highest percentages of early voting in the nation.)
Be sure your ballot is counted! If you don’t vote in person, Return your ballot to your town clerk’s office before the office closes on the day before the election or bring it to your polling place before 7 p.m. on Election Day.
All requests for absentee ballots must be submitted by 5 p.m. or by the close of the town clerk’s office on the day before the election.
Your town clerk will contact you if there’s something you need to fix (cure) for your ballot to be counted. Read more about defective ballots.

In-home Ballot Delivery
If you are sick or have a disability, a ballot can be delivered to your home on Election Day. You may request an absentee ballot up until 5 p.m. on the day before the election. Two justices of the peace (of different parties when possible) will deliver a ballot to you, and then will bring the ballot back to the polling place so that it can be placed in the ballot box and counted.

If you haven’t received a ballot or would like to register to vote in Vermont , please contact our Town Clerk, Jon Johnson at Town Hall. clerk@putneyvt.gov
