​ Barika is a 6 piece funky, dubbed out, psychedelic West African flavored band from Burlington, Vermont. The group is led by Craig Myers who, in addition to leading Barika on the N’Goni, is also a current member of Mike Gordon’s band, and was one of the original founding members of Rubblebucket. He has performed alongside many artists and bands including Midnight, Toubab Krewe, Djeneba Seck, and John Brown’s Body. https://youtu.be/yX_Vq6C_EsA World Eaters are a Greenfield, MA based nine-piece band, pumping out punk, psych, cumbia, free-jazz, funk, and interplanetary music. They are a polyphonic rockers with horns, comprised of members of Shokazoba, Vimana, and Holy Vex. Influenced by Sun Ra, Lucho Bermudez, Art Ensemble of Chicago, Dorothy Ashby, Fela Kuti, The Stooges, Baris Manço, Willie Colón, Oum Kalthum, Lee "Scratch" Perry, Mulatu Astatqe, Slayer, Bad Brains, Can, The Ex, Funkadelic, Napalm Death, Alice Coltrane, Gang of Four, Afrosound, Orchestre Poly-Rythmo de Cotonou, Don Cherry and other freaks. Peace & Rhythm DJs are a group of dynamic DJs who spin and share funk, world, jazz, and so much more. Brendon Rule hosted the original Peace & Rhythm blog. DJ Andujar is his evil twin. One or the other may be responsible for any number of funkifried happenings. From the legendary Radio Clandestino to the Rumba Psicodélica parties, the joint will always be bonkers. Pablo Yglesias thrills us with his endless enthusiasm and knowledge of global funkiness. As a writer and historian he has informed on many musical subjects from latin & funk to jazz & punk via the likes of Wax Poetics, his Rough Guides overviews and more. He regularly spins vinyl as DJ Bongohead and works in the fields of art and graphic design. Justin Cohen travels the world as DJ Studebaker Hawk. He digs for records and throws parties running the gamut of funk, disco, house, soul, Latin, Balearic, and funky music from around the world. When not on the road, you can find him between Guadalajara, Mexico and Boston/Northampton, Massachusetts. Phil Straub has been delivering us great & groovy music via his popular Funky Friday weekly radio program since 1999. Phil’s tastes run a wide range, with a special love of soul music. He has an appetite for cinema and sequential art. He is also a homebrewer. Jonathan Bell, sometimes known as Jonny Cobra, is a web designer and music enthusiast in Jamestown, NY.
