Brattleboro Words Trail Launch
The much-anticipated Brattleboro Words Trail, community-created, audio-based tours aggregating the unique cultural heritage of the area in an unprecedented way, will go live on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 with a Zoom event from 7:00 to 8:30 pm hosted by Project leaders. The public is invited to join the online launch to learn about using the Trail and to hear favorite stories from some of the scores of writers, scholars, producers and community members who’ve brought the Trail to life. Register for this event at the Project website at: http://brattleborowords.org The Trail will be available on a new app platform, providing GPS-integration and downloadable audio, for Android and Apple users. A new, interactive companion website will provide additional information and features. A companion ‘rack map’ will be available for free at the Brattleboro Area Chamber of Commerce, tourism kiosks and other locations. Once launched, people will be able to hear audio stories from the Trail via their smart phone anywhere, including on-site locations and while viewing “Our Storied Landscape: Revealing the Brattleboro Words Trail,” at the Brattleboro Museum & Art Center. The exhibit is open Wednesdays thru Sundays 10:00 to 4:00 pm through February 14, 2021. This event marks the culmination of the Brattleboro Words Project mark the three-year, National Endowment for the Humanities-backed community effort celebrating the greater Brattleboro area’s unique and long-standing love affair with words.
