NEYT's Theatre Adventure presents "A Midsummer Night's Dream"
New England Youth Theater’s Theater Adventure presents:  “A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM", performed on Thursday, April 13 at 10:30 am and Friday, April 14 at 7:00pm at the West Village Meeting House in West Brattleboro. Shakespeare is alive and well with the Theatre Adventure Thursday Troupe!  Their spring production, A Midsummer Night’s Dream promises to be an unforgettable experience for audiences and performers alike, as the company continues to discover the rhythmic language and outrageous storylines of the famous Bard.  The actors have truly embraced their characters from “the inside out”:  Egeus embodies the emotions of a father betrayed by his daughter Hermia, while Hermia grapples with being both the headstrong daughter standing up to her father, and the young woman hopelessly in love.  Hippolyta, Queen of the Amazons, heads the Court with wisdom and sympathy, and Demetrius,  played by three actors, presents all of his various conflicting emotions with truth and feeling.  Bottom, played by two actors, skillfully uses pantomime as the clown of the story, and of course, Puck, Oberon, Titania, and several other fairies bring magic and whimsy to this unforgettable tale. Outstanding performances by all of the actors in glorious costumes create a theatrical production that highlights the strengths and talents of the dedicated Theatre Adventure actors.  Inclusive theatre is at its finest in Southern Vermont! A Midsummer Night’s Dream performs Thursday, April 13 at 10:30am, and Friday, April 14 at 7:00pm at the West Village Meeting House, 29 South Street, West Brattleboro. Tickets for these performances are $10 each; discounted group ticket sales are available upon request. Tickets may be purchased in advance at www.neyt.org, in person at the NEYT Box Office, or by phone (802) 246-6398 from 12-5pm on Wednesdays. The West Village Meeting House is an accessible venue, with accommodations for wheelchairs, and all performances will be ASL interpreted. New England Youth Theatre is supported by Foard Panel, the Vermont Children’s Trust Fund, Vermont Arts Council, and the National Endowment for the Arts. With innovative artistic vision, Theatre Adventure actors with abilities and disabilities create brave and vibrant theater.
