Freeman was a prolific writer, admired by Rudyard Kipling and Mark Twain, known nationwide for her depictions of New England village life. A 1986 short film starring Amy Madigan based on Freeman’s short story, “The Revolt of Mother,” will be screened at 7:00 PM, followed by a discussion of the themes found in the short story and the film. This event is free and open to the public.
