The Old and the New
Carolyn Handy of Putney will emcee the upcoming meeting of BrattleMasters, the local Toastmasters club. "The Old and the New" is the theme. The club meets twice monthly on the second and fourth Thursdays. In addition to speeches and evaluations, members will give reports on ahs and other filler words, grammar, keeping within time limits, and other aspects of the meeting. A topics master will run an extemporaneous speaking exercise available to everyone including guests. Free refreshments will be provided during a break in the 90-minute meeting. BrattleMasters members live in Vermont, New Hampshire and Massachusetts. The organization's membership exceeds 357,000 in more than 16,600 clubs in 143 countries. Since 1924, Toastmasters International has helped people from diverse backgrounds become more confident speakers, communicators and leaders. The public is welcome to visit, watch and listen.
