Extra Heating Assistance Available

Thousands of Vermont families will get an extra fuel benefit through the Seasonal Fuel Assistance Program.
Those eligible must have received an oil or kerosene benefit between Nov. 9, 2021, and Feb. 28, 2022. Households must have been active fuel households as of Feb. 28, 2022. People with questions can call 1-800-479-6151.

Some 10,000 households who have received fuel assistance this heating season, will get a one-time, extra $350 benefit, to be paid to providers to help offset additional costs for participants. The Department for Children and Families will also provide an additional $500,000 to five community action agencies so they can help more households with heating emergencies. In our area, that would be Southeast Vermont Community Action (SEVCA) in Westminster. 802-722-4575
