Fall Woodworking Classes for Beginners at HatchSpace

Learn something new and have fun in HatchSpace’s introduction to working classes.

Introduction to Woodworking: Build a Side Table
Through the creation of a side table, this class introduces students to the fundamentals of building furniture, the safe use of power tools such as the jointer, planer and table saw, a wide range of hand tools and techniques, and numerous design possibilities. Instructor Doug Finkel has many years of experience teaching in schools and at craft centers. Tuesdays, September 21 – November 9 (8 sessions); 6-9 pm.

Introduction to Woodworking: Build a Cutting Board
This beginning/refresher class offers in-depth instruction on several essential woodworking processes and on the safe and thoughtful use of key power tools such as the table saw, jointer, planer, band saw, drill press, and more. Instructor Doug Finkel has many years of experience teaching in schools and at craft centers. This class will be offered 3 times this fall, and each meets for three 3-hour sessions.

Beginning Woodworking for Women
Design and build your own small project and learn about safety, design, wood, power tools and hand tools in a supportive environment. For over twenty years, instructor Gail Grycel has empowered women and girls through her workshop and class offerings. Class meets Mondays and Wednesdays, November 15 – December 13, 6-9 pm.
