Foot Care Clinic is now FREE

Register now for a FREE foot care clinic appointment at Putney Community Cares

We need a minimum of 3 more participants to register for an FREE foot care clinic appointment. If you were waiting to make an appointment now is the time!

We so please to announce that we have received funding for Free Foot Care Clinics through Fall 2023! This funding has been been made possibly through congressional funding secured by VASCAMP (Vermont Association of Senior Centers and Meal Providers). We are a VASCAMP member and were able to take advantage of this generous funding for FREE Foot Care Clinics! We will have free Foot Care Clinics every month.

To take advantage of this opportunity, you will still need to register for an appointment by calling the registered nurse. Beverly Sinclair is a registered nurse who provides foot care clinics at Putney Community Cares. The Foot Care Clinics typically occur on the last Thursday of each month, though the schedule will be different for the next few months. The Foot Care Clinic will run from 10:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. on the following dates, all Thursdays:

May 25, 2023
June 22, 2023
July 27, 2023
August 31, 2023
September 28, 2023
October 26, 2023

The R.N. can care for diabetic feet, but for those with issues beyond the scope of this Clinic, such as ingrown toe nails, infections, foot ulcers, etc., the R.N. can provide a free assessment and refer you to a podiatrist for care. Each Foot Care Session consists of:

-Knee to toe assessments of skin, circulation, and feet
-Anti-bacterial foot soak
-Toenails trimmed and filed smooth and calluses reduced
-Exfoliating foot scrub and therapeutic foot massage
-Teaching appropriate foot care techniques to meet your individual needs

There is NO COST for your participation — the costs of paying the R.N. is included in the grant. Pre-registration is required.
