Green Up Day

greenupdayGreen Up Vermont is an annual springtime clean up event held throughout the state, with volunteers picking up roadside trash and cleaning up other public areas where trash has been disposed. This year Green Up Vermont is Saturday, May 2.

If you would like to help picking up your neighborhood or any place else in town:

A Putney town truck will be parked by the Town Hall all day Saturday, May 2. Beside it will be a box of Green Up bags. Take as many as you think you might need, but please not more than that. Go to the place you want to clean and fill your bags. Bring your filled bags back to the truck and put them in the back. It’s okay to leave them beside the truck if you cannot reach in. I’ll take care of it later.

Areas that I know need attention this year: the area around the recycling roll-offs at the Fire Station and the Co-op parking lot bordering the Yellow Barn property.

Thank you for your effort!
