Halloween contra dance, potluck, and kid’s party at Pierce’s Hall Sat., Oct. 31

Pierce’s Hall is hosting a party for all ages on Halloween from 4:30 to 10:30–this Saturday! There will be a kids’ party with music and games, a potluck supper, and then a contra dance. The dance includes a beginners’ session, and all ages and skill levels are welcome. All dances are taught and no partner is required.

This year the itinerary is as follows:

4:30 p.m. – For kids! Lots of games: pin-the-nose-on-the-jack-o-lantern, donuts on a string, and more. Music and singing with Robin Morgan. There will be a scavenger hunt throughout the “Haunted Hall” with treats for all.

6:00 p.m. – Potluck supper

7:30 p.m. – All ages welcome: Lisa Sieverts will start teaching the beginners’ session at 7:30. This is family-friendly, and kids still present from the party are welcome to join in.

8:00 – 10:30 p.m. The traditional Halloween East Putney Community Contra Dance–costumes encouraged! Lisa Sieverts will be calling while Amy Cann and the All Comers Band play spooky songs and classic contra standards. Watch out for the waltz–it’s a doozy!

There’s something for everyone, so come eat, dance, and be merry!
