We’ve got a busy dance night this month at Pierce’s Hall, Saturday October 25. We always do something special for the Halloween dance, and this year the itinerary is as follows:
4:30 p.m. – For kids!
Annie Frelich (of The Annies http://www.theannies.com/about/index.html) will celebrate Autumn and Halloween with songs for younger children.
Costume parade
Scavenger hunt throughout the “Haunted Hall” with treats for all.
6:00 to 7:00 p.m. – Potluck supper
7:00 p.m. – All ages welcome: Amy Cann will start teaching family-friendly dances at 7:00, evolving gradually into beginner contra dances by 7:30.
8:00 – 10:30 p.m. The traditional Halloween East Putney Community Contra Dance–costumes encouraged! Amy Cann and the All Comers Band play spooky songs and classic contra standards. Caller is TBA due to last-minute unforeseen circumstances, but we’ll have someone great lined up shortly. Because the lead-in dance with Amy Cann will get things underway earlier than usual, come right at 8:00 if you can.
The suggested donation for the contra dance is $7. To reach Pierce’s Hall in East Putney, go north from Putney Village for 2 miles on Rt. 5. Turn right onto East Putney Falls Road and go 1/2 mile until you come to the driveway to the hall on the left. For GPS users, the address is 121 East Putney Falls Road, though there is no address marker at the driveway. For more info, call 802-387-5357.
There’s something for everyone, so come eat, dance, and be merry!
