A workshop sponsored by the Brattleboro Development Credit Corporation’s INSTIG8 program will teach small businesses and nonprofits how to build their own websites using Squarespace. The workshop will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at the BDCC office at the Cotton Mill on February 7.
The workshop will be taught by Bob Lawson, founder of Sustainable Digital, a Putney-based company specializing in web design.
With the advent of new web tools, such as Squarespace, the job of developing and maintaining a website can now often be handled by people without technical training.
In this workshop, Bob Lawson will present a live demonstration of how to create a simple website from the ground up using Squarespace’s templates and easy editor.
The website basics you’ll learn will include:
- How to select a template
- How to organize the site and its menu
- Using “Blocks” to layout pages
- Building a photo gallery
- Adding forms and other special features.
About the Instructor: Bob develops websites and provides other digital communication and technology services from his office in Putney, VT. In addition to websites, he helps both nonprofits and for-profits develop and implement their communications strategy.
