Landmark College Hosts Screening/Discussion of “Normal Isn’t Real” on April 30

Landmark College welcomes Krys Kornmeier to campus for a screening of her documentary film “Normal Isn’t Real” on Wednesday, April 30 at 7 p.m. in the Brooks O’Brien Auditorium/Lewis Academics Building.

“Normal Isn’t Real” is a series of four, mini-documentary style videos featuring successful young adults who are neurodivergent sharing their stories. The candid portraits take the viewer into the subjects’ daily lives; showcasing their talents, venting their frustrations, and employing the strategies they use to manage their challenges and utilize their strengths.

Following the film, Kornmeier will be joined by Landmark College Vice President for Neurodiversity and Innovation Dr. Adam Lalor to answer questions and discuss the “Normal Isn’t Real” learning resource toolkit that the Landmark College Institute for Research and Training developed with Kornmeier.

Krys Kornmeier has produced non-fiction programs on a variety of topics for Discovery, Animal Planet, Global View Productions, Turner Broadcasting and The Smithsonian Networks HD Channel. She won a Cable Ace Award as Executive in Charge of Production for the thirteen-part environmental series “Earthscope,” and a Golden Eagle Cine Award for Non-Fiction Children’s Programs as the producer/director of CritterQuest. Kornmeier has also directed two seasons of “Hoarding: Buried Alive!” for Discovery’s TLC and has field directed stories on a range of subjects including addiction and voting rights.

The event is free and open to the public. Please email marketing@landmark.edu with any questions or accommodation requests.

Landmark College is located at 19 River Road South in Putney, Vermont. For more information about the event, driving directions, and a campus map, visit www.landmark.edu.
