On Friday, March 15, Windham World Affairs Council will present “Were The House Still Standing: Maine Survivors and Liberators Remember the Holocaust.” It is a multi-media project which weaves together the testimony of sixteen survivors and liberators who rebuilt their lives in the State of Maine. This project, on permanent display at the Michael Klahr Center, the permanent home of the Holocaust and Human Rights Center of Maine in Augusta, is the creation of Robert Katz, currently a professor of art at the University of Maine at Augusta. In addition to the showing of the film, Katz will present a compelling talk about family remembrance and the Holocaust.
