May 12 is the Annual Postal Carriers “Stamp Out Hunger” Drive for the Putney Foodshelf

How cool would it be if we could “Stamp Out Hunger”?

Saturday, May 12th is the day nation-wide that postal carriers will pick up a bag of donated nonperishables YOU place at the base of YOUR mailbox. If you see them, thank them! This adds a lot of time to their already busy work day — and the Foodshelf really appreciates it! Spaghetti sauce, pasta, beans, soups, rice, are all items we stock on our shelves and could use.

Eating is, hopefully, a daily activity — but for too many of our neighbors, the question of where the next meal is coming from is unclear. The Putney Foodshelf supports over 75 households supplying over 1,000 pounds of food weekly. Fortunately, our faithful Postal Carriers help us with this Stamp Out Hunger Drive to keep our shelves stocked.

The Foodshelf has events all year and this one is key. Help us by purchasing, bagging, and leaving food at your mailbox on May 12th. Thanks!

The Foodshelf is open to anyone in need of food for whatever reason. One does not need to prove need. We track numbers only for reporting and planning. We are always open: Tuesdays 6–7pm and Saturdays 9–10am. For more information: putneyfoodshelf.com, putneyfoodshelf@gmail.com, 802-387-8551.
