Vermont State Treasurer Mike Pieciak would like to invite you to an upcoming Virtual Policy Forum on Medical Debt Relief that his office is hosting on Thursday, March 6 at 11:30 AM.
We’re excited to be joined by Rhode Island Treasurer James Diossa, Vermont legislative leaders, and local and national experts to discuss a proposal to eliminate $100 million in medical debt for Vermonters using a one-time investment of $1 million—all with no new spending.
The panel will also examine Treasurer Diossa’s medical debt relief program in Rhode Island, which has successfully wiped-out medical debt for the state’s most vulnerable residents at pennies on the dollar.
Vermont has some of the highest health care costs in the country, leaving many of us just one medical emergency away from crushing debt through no fault of our own.
Please join us on Thursday, March 6 to learn how medical debt relief will lower costs, protect credit scores, and give Vermonters the freedom to invest in their futures.
