New Accessible Voting System

The Vermont Secretary of State has provided a new accessible voting system to the Town of Putney at no cost to the Town. The new system is designed to make voting easier for those who have difficulty reading or marking a paper ballot. The system will read the ballot aloud for those with visual impairment and has three different ways to mark the ballot to be selected by the voter. Once the ballot is completed, the system prints out a paper ballot that will be counted just like every other ballot cast by voters in Putney. If you, or anyone you know, might benefit from the Omni Ballot system it will be available for use in the August 14, 2018 Statewide Primary at the Putney Fire Department and is available now for early voting at Putney Town Hall, 127 Main St., Putney, VT 05346. The Town Clerk’s office is open on Mon, Tues, and Thurs from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM on Wed. and 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM on Fridays. Call 387-5862 Ext. 13 with any questions.
