State Representatives Mike Mrowicki and Nader Hashim will again host an Online Zoom meeting for their constituents of the Windham 4 District of Putney, Dummerston and Westminster.The next meeting will be Saturday July 11 at 10am and will feature Xusana Davis, Director of Vermont’s Racial Equity Commission.
The director of Racial Equity position, and a five-member Racial Equity Advisory Panel, which the director oversees, were established by lawmakers and the governor last year to help identify and address systemic racism in state government. Previously, Ms. Davis had worked as the director of health and housing strategic initiatives in New York City’s health department. She also served as the director of the New York City Council’s Black, Latino and Asian Caucus.
Your state legislators will share a report of recent legislative actions and then Director Davis, will provide an overview of her work with the Racial Equity Commission, and hopes for the future work of the commission. There will be time for questions to your state reps and the Director, and it is suggester that questions are emailed prior to the meeting. In that way, we can coordinate similar questions and better use the limited time online.
