NXT Gallery Presents “Art Array”: Paintings by Vermont Artist Ricky McEachern
Opening Reception: Thursday, May 29, 6–8pm
Next Stage Arts, 15 Kimball Hill, Putney, VT
The NXT Gallery at Next Stage Arts welcomes a new exhibition, Art Array, featuring the evocative work of Vermont-based artist Ricky McEachern. The show opens with a public reception on Thursday, May 29, from 6 to 8pm, and will remain on view through August 11.
A recent transplant from Boston, McEachern is no stranger to the visual richness of New England. His oil paintings, many based on his own photographs, reflect a deep connection to the region’s layered history and striking diversity—ranging from gritty urban centers to tranquil shorelines, forgotten mills to majestic mountains.
Much of McEachern’s work explores the quiet beauty and haunting nostalgia of abandoned or vintage manmade structures. His paintings often depict the subtle interplay between the built environment and nature: rusted buildings overtaken by vines, fractured walls softened by dappled light, and places once vibrant now standing still in time. These works invite viewers to consider the stories embedded in the textures of these fading spaces—once celebrated, now quietly dissolving into the landscape.
This is McEachern’s first solo show at NXT Gallery, and an excellent opportunity to experience the perspective of an artist whose work resonates with both memory and moment.
The NXT Gallery is located at Next Stage Arts, 15 Kimball Hill, Putney, VT. The gallery is open during Next Stage events, and also by appointment with the artist or by contacting Next Stage at info@nextstagearts.org or (802) 451-0053.
