The Putney Public Library is DELIGHTED to announce that the Library building reopened on Monday, September 14th as part of our phased re-opening plan. We have loved seeing our patrons again and are excited to welcome more of you back into the building.
The Library will be open on Mondays from 10am-2pm and Wednesdays from 2pm-6pm. The library’s capacity has been reduced and people can visit to select books or use a computer for 20 minutes. The library will be closed for cleaning of high touch surfaces ten minutes before each hour, and will re-open on the hour. Staff members will help you with reminders about timing.
When you visit, you will notice that most of the furniture has been removed to make space for social distancing. At this time, we aren’t able to offer our usual comfortable chairs and newspaper sharing. But browsing is back for all that have missed it!
Masks that cover the nose and mouth are required for all patrons and social distancing guidance will be in place once inside. Patrons ages 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult for their visits.
Patrons will still be able to pick up holds outside the building during pickup hours, which have been expanded to: Mondays: 10am-4:30pm, Wednesdays: 10am-6pm and Fridays: 10am-4:30pm. Our laptop lending will also continue for anyone who wishes to use one outside on library grounds.
We can’t wait to see your faces! (At least the portion of your faces that are visible above your masks.)
