Putney Public Library Writers Salon will run the first Thursday
evening of each month from November through March from 7-8 pm and
will feature writers of fiction and poetry from Vermont and other parts of
the United States.

The host for the series is Toni Ortner who lives in Putney,
Vermont. She has had 26 books published by small presses. Most recent are
Daybooks I and II by Deerbrook Editions and Daybooks III by Ardent Writer
Press. Blue Lyrics will be published by Adelaide Books next year. Toni is
Vice President of Write Action which is a nonprofit group that supports
writers in Southern Vermont, specifically the Brattleboro area.

Thursday November 4 there will be two writers of fiction.
Vince Panella is a novelist and short story writer. HIs stories have
appeared in several small magazines, and his four published books are a
memoir called The Other Side, subtitled Growing Up Italian in America; a
novel about a young Julius Caesar called Cutter’ Island; a short story
collection, Lost Hearts, and most recently a novel called Sicilian Dreams.
Vincent will read from both published and unpublished work.

Ed Burke lives in Brattleboro, Vermont where he has raised a family and
also practices law. He was born and raised in Philadelphia and worked in
Boulder, Maui, San Francisco, Seattle, and Alaska before settling in
Vermont. His poetry has been published in several literary journals. His
novel titled Christine Released was published by Running Wild Press in
2019. His Maia’s Call was published in the Running Wild Novella Anthology,
Vol. 4 in 2020.
