PUTNEY STORM UPDATE

8.5.2021 ROAD UPDATE:
Thank you Putney community for your patience. It is one week today we endured the storm. At this time the town has suffered approximately $800,000 of damage.

Logistically, we are working from several angles to reopen/repair town roads. We have assistance from a neighboring town today which we are thankful. We have two local contractors that have been working since the storm and are grateful for them as well.

Our Emergency Management Director, Tom Goddard is handling logistics with Vermont Emergency Management, VTrans and the Governor was in town on Monday. We will be meeting with VEM Monday remotely.

If a property owner has property damage, contact 2-1-1 and report it. I was advised by 2-1-1 to push the * key. If you get a voice message leave your name and contact number. There is a process for reporting personal property damage from the storm. Contact 2-1-1 first. I will have more information on this program once I communicate with our EMD, Tom Goddard.

Any and all road concerns, contact the Town Manager at 387.5862, extension 1 or email Manager@putneyvt.org.

Respectfully,
Karen Astley, Town Manager
