Putney Community Cares is helping to spread some Putney Winter Cheer! This is in place of the Putney Gift Drive. Read below for more info, but donate or ask for support by December 15, 2022!

For many years, Putney has held a Gift Drive for kids. This annual tradition has helped local families make the holiday season special. This year, we are changing our tradition a bit by shifting the focus from kids to EVERYONE in our community. This creates an opportunity for everyone in our community who needs a little cheer to receive a gift card from a local business.
Putney Community Cares, Putney Food Co-op, Putney General Store and Putney Diner are coming together to collect donations. These donations will go toward the purchase of gift cards from Putney businesses. Putney Community Cares will be managing the purchase and distribution of gift cards! Here’s how it will work:
KNOW SOMEONE WHO NEEDS A LITTLE CHEER?
1. If you know someone who needs some cheer this holiday season, please fill out the form to let us know! bit.ly/PutneyWinterCheer2022
We ask that you only fill out the form if you think there is a true need for support. You can fill out the form for a child, family member, friend or neighbor — but please note that the name of the person completing the form will appear with the gift card. PLEASE COMPLETE THE FORM BY LATEST DECEMBER 15, 2022.
2. We will be collecting donations and tallying the amount we are able to spend for each individual. We will purchase gift cards to distribute starting December 17, 2022.
LOOKING TO DONATE TO HELP SPREAD CHEER?
1. You can go to the Putney Food Co-op, Putney General Store or Putney Diner to donate money at the register.
2. If you are interested in donating online, Putney Community Cares will be receiving online donations at bit.ly/PutneyWinterCheerDonation (the link is case sensitive).

4. We will not be accepting donations of toys or any other goods for this drive — only monetary donations to support the purchase of gift cards to local businesses. (If you are looking to donate toys or other gifts, contact Putney Community Cares for information about where to donate – coordinator@putneycommunitycares.org)
The Putney Winter Cheer is meant to serve local folks who have not received gift assistance from another program — but this is not a question asked on this form and there is no requirement to prove need. We simply ask you to assert that the individual receiving the gift card is indeed someone who needs it. We want everyone in our community to feel supported by Putney.
