SNAP Update & Food Support

The Putney Foodshelf is open Fridays and Saturdays and we’re here for you. We have been preparing to see more shoppers in the weeks ahead.

SNAP UPDATE: As you may have heard, 3SquaresVT benefits are delayed for November. Due to the federal funding delay, the State of Vermont is stepping in to make sure 3SquaresVT benefits continue for the start of November. You’ll get half of your usual monthly benefit by November 7th. If the federal funding lapse continues, the State will decide on November 13 whether to issue funds to cover the second half of benefits for the rest of the month.

For example, if you usually get $200 a month in 3SquaresVT benefits, here’s what you can expect:
By November 7th: $100 in benefits to cover the first 15 days of November.
On November 13: If federal funding is still delayed, the state will decide about issuing your other $100 for the rest of November.

If you still have funds on your EBT Card from last month, you can still use them. You can check your EBT Balance online or by calling 1-800-914-8605

GET FOOD: Putney Foodshelf is open Fridays from 12:30-3:30 and Saturdays from 9-10:30. If these times don’t work for you, reach out to the Foodshelf and they will try to accommodate. Email ops.putneyfoodshelf@gmail.com or visit the website www.putneyfoodshelf.org for more information. (Please note that the Foodshelf will be closed after Thanksgiving, Nov. 28 and 29.)

WAYS TO HELP: If you are in a position to give, please help the Putney Foodshelf by volunteering or donating. Monetary donations are especially appreciated, as the Foodshelf has systems to make each dollar go further than an individual shopper could.
