Don’t forget to help the Putney Foodshelf stamp out hunger by leaving a bag of non-perishable food at the base of your mailbox this Saturday, May 11th. Your local postal carrier will pick it up (if you see them, thank them for helping us this adds to their day considerably!) and bring it back to the post office. The Foodshelf volunteers will haul it over to the Foodshelf, sort, and put it away. We have typically collected upwards of 500 lb on one of these events which goes far in keeping our shelves stocked for our food insecure neighbors.
All nonperishable healthy food welcome — peanut butter, spaghetti sauce, canned fruit and tuna especially appreciated.
