Step into the Rhythm with Subject:Matter at Next Stage Arts

Putney’s Next Stage Arts welcomes Boston-based tap dance company Subject:Matter for a lively week of community and performance that will have your toes tapping!

It kicks off Tuesday, Jan. 6, with a Community Tap Jam from 7:00–8:30 PM. Open to dancers of all levels—and even musicians—this free, welcoming session invites you to explore tap dance alongside live music. Never tapped before? No problem. Looking to sharpen your skills? Then, on Sunday, Jan. 11, Subject:Matter presents a dynamic performance at 2:00 PM, featuring new works created during their residency at Next Stage alongside selections from their celebrated albums With Far Hand and Songbook. This high-energy performance blends live music and tap dance in a celebration of rhythm, artistry, and improvisation—a rare chance to witness the creative process in action. Tickets are $20 for adults, $10 for students. Doors open at 1:15 PM.
