Study Group on Shakespeare’s Final Plays at Putney Library

Gordon Jones, a Putney School faculty member, is offering a study of Shakespeare’s final plays this Fall at the Putney Public Library. The group will meet on Mondays at 6:30pm starting on September 9 and will work through 3 plays—The Winters Tale, Cymbeline and The Tempest. Alongside the plays, the group will also study some of the Sonnets, using a selected edition complied by Gordon and available in a digital or print format. Copies of the plays will be available through the library, and can also be found on the MIT Shakespeare site. Gordon will be making online study guides to the plays. Participants can come for one play or the entire series. If you would like to join the group, please email Gordon at gjones@putneyschool.org and he will connect you to the material and tell you the dates that each play will be discussed.
Gordon, a UK citizen, has taught English literature on four continents. He is also an enthusiastic painter and pianist.
Putney Public Library is located at 55 Main St in Putney, VT. These events are free and open to the public.
