Post-Roe deliberation with Meg Mott: Are the People up the Task?
Tuesday, July 19th at 7pm at Putney Public Library

Masks are required for this indoor program.
With the Supreme Court decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, the regulation of abortion has been “returned to the people and their elective representatives.” But here’s the catch: To deliberate requires listening to your political opponents as if they deserve dignity. Are the People really up to this task?

This presentation considers the best arguments both for and against abortion from three different political perspectives: Progressive, Libertarian, and Conservative. By the end of the evening, we’ll have a better understanding of how reasonable people think about this contentious issue and how we might co-exist with different points of view.

Putney Public Library is located at 55 Main St. in Putney, VT. All of our programs, including this one, are free and open to the public.
