CANCELLED–Castle Freeman to Read at Putney Library – will reschedule

Castle Freeman, Vermont author, will read his work at Putney Public Library on Thursday, May 16th at 7pm.

Castle will read from his most recently published novel, THE DEVIL IN THE VALLEY (2016), and from a series of short essays he wrote for the Old Farmers’ Almanac. There will also be a question and answer period and a chance to have Castle sign books that people bring. No books will be for sale at this event.

Castle Freeman, Jr. was born in Texas, raised and educated in Chicago, New York, and Philadelphia. He came to southeastern Vermont with his wife, Alice, on a whim and is still here 45 years later. He is the author of eight novels, something like eighty short stories, two story collections, one full-length work of Vermont history, and more than 100 essays, historical articles, op-ed matter, journalism, nature writing, and other nonfiction, most of it related in one way or another to the life of our state and its people.

Putney Public Library is located at 55 Main St in Putney, VT. This event is free and open to the public.
