Sandglass Theater Comes to Putney Library for Summer Reading Kick Off Party
On Wednesday June 28th at 11am, the Putney Public Library will kick off the youth Summer Reading Program with an amazing puppet show for all ages by Sandglass Theater’s Shoshana Bass! Fritzi’s Flea Circus welcomes audiences into a delightful world of circus feats, presented by a tiny flea with a big personality. In this 20 minute show, you will experience Fritzi as the strong man, the high diver and even watch as he is shot out of a cannon into the audience. This miniature world invites the power of imagination, play and ear wiggling, scalp tickling, heart-warming fun. Snacks will be served outside after the show.
Kids can also sign up for Putney Library’s Summer Reading Program, a self-paced non-competitive reading program that will keep your family reading through the summer! This year’s Summer Reading theme is Build a Better World and we’ll be busy reading and building with free programs for kids and families. Join us every Wednesday and Friday through July for special story times, guests, and fun activities! Come help us construct a box fort, work on your own fairy house or gnome home, build a huge fruit salad, and visit with special guests like the Putney Road Crew and their huge road construction machines. See the full schedule at: putneylibrary.org or pick up a schedule at the Putney Library. All of the programs are completely free and open to everyone.
Come join us, enjoy a great show, have some snacks, and sign up for a program that will keep your children engaged in literacy activities for the summer!
Putney Public Library is located at 55 Main St. in Putney, VT. All of our events are free and open to the public.
