Between Sunday, December 20th and Wednesday, December 22nd several green totes of donated cans and bottles were pillaged from town hall property.

It is the holiday season, we are still in a state of emergency due to COVID-19, and perhaps someone is feeling the financial distress from it all. To the person or people who emptied the totes of the donations from the community, all proceeds from these green totes go to the children and families who enjoy the Putney public pool. You may not realize our pool is an asset to this community. It is also in dire need of $120,000 of repair. Taking from these totes does not ease our burden to save our pool.

Given we won’t be able to recoup our loss, I can only surmise your need was greater. Our community and the county do offer resources for those who are struggling financially. If you require assistance please reach out to our office (387.5862) and we will do our best to get you the proper assistance.
